Last Leg of my Journey: Western Colorado

These 2-dimensional pictures just can't capture the might of this formation--MASSIVE AND BEAUTIFUL!
Pan out of above.
One more picture as I was passing by.
Moving farther east.
So massive. It makes you feel so humble. (close-up of above).
Colorado River--close to New Castle.
Entering a zone of huge red mountains.
90% of this whole 180 mile trip followed the Colorado River.
Colorado river again in the Red Mountains.
Pretty sure I'm just entering the white river national forest.
What was the name of that exit again?
Here comes tunnel number one. Colorado river is not too rough... yet.
By Grizzly Creek.
Pan out from last image.
Kayaking in the Colorado river in the White River National Forest. Little out of order.
Our of order: end of the red mountains.
Highway 70 follows the Colorado river, as well as a railroad track.
Another tunnel in White River National Park.

Almost out of White River National Park.
Entering the town of Gypsum--getting close!
Gypsum--how about that for a back yard!
Eagle River on the outskirts of Eagle.
Next up, Eagle. This is the newer area.
More of Eagle.
Leaving Eagle--more red mountains.
Heading to Edwards. And Colorado has adapted the "click it or ticket" seat belt law for 2012.
Almost to Avon--my new temporary home.
Horses welcome you to Avon. They sit in the middle of a "round about," which are prevalent in Colorado--they take a little getting used to.

My temporary new home in Avon: Beaver Creek Resort. Yes, they are still skiing in April; although, the season is almost over and not all runs are open.
The complex is called Upper Borders--my home for two months.

Trying hard to get my wife over here for some well deserved R&R!

Come on Lydia!!!

View out of my living room. Talk about relaxing!
