SCHEDULED PERMANENT DISABILITIES: (For Injuries on/after 04/01/1997)

Guidelines using work capacity as an index apply to neck, back, pelvis, heart, pulmonary and abdominal disabilities. Here is a download of the official document from the IMC: (Official PDR 1997)

SPINE AND TORSO GUIDELINES

Disability Precluding Very Heavy Lifting:
Contemplates the individual has lost approximately 25% of pre-injury capacity for lifting.
10%
Disability Precluding Very Heavy Work:
contemplates the individual has lost approximately 25% of pre-injury capacity for performing such activities as bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing or other activities involving comparable physical effort.
15%
Disability Precluding Heavy Lifting:
contemplates the individual has lost approximately 50% of pre-injury capacity for lifting.
20%
Disability Precluding Heavy Lifting, Repeated Bending & Stooping:
contemplates the individual has lost approximately 50% of pre-injury capacity for lifting, bending and stooping.
25%
Disability Precluding Heavy Work:
contemplates the individual has lost approximately 50% of his pre-injury capacity for performing such activities as bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing or other activities involving comparable physical effort.
30%
New Disability Precluding Substantial Work:
Contemplates the individual has lost approximately 75% of pre-injury capacity for performing such activities as bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing or other activities involving comparable physical effort.

Disability Resulting in Limitation to Light Work:
contemplates the individual can do work in a standing or walking position, with a minimum of demands for physical effort.
50%
Disability Resulting in Limitation to Semi-Sedentary Work:
contemplates the individual can do work approximately one-half the time in a sitting position, and approximately one-half the time in a standing or walking position, with a minimum of demands for physical effort whether standing, walking or sitting.
60%
Disability Resulting in Limitation to Sedentary Work:
contemplates the individual can do work predominantly in a sitting position at a bench, desk or table with a minimum of demands for physical effort and with some degree of walking and standing being permitted.
70%
Disability Precluding Very / Forceful Activities: Contemplates the individual has lost approximately 25%(Very Forceful)/50%(Forceful) of their preinjury capacity for lifting, pushing, pulling, pinching, grasping, pinching, holding, torquing, and performing other activities of comparable physical effort. [Note: This is was a "proposed" Upper Extremity Guideline.]

ACTIVITY MODIFIERS
Prolonged: 25% LOSS of the ability to perform the prescribed activity.
Heavy, Forceful, Strenuous, Fine: 50% LOSS of the ability to perform the prescribed activity.
Repetitive: 50% LOSS of the ability to perform the prescribed activity.
Substantial: 75% LOSS of the ability to perform the prescribed activity.
Very: Cuts other Modifier in Half.
